This rating deffes from usual World cup classification.

First, only significant results are counted here (1-8 places of the World cup and 1-10 places of World championship). To the authors mind (and to mind of many strong athletes), the`s practically no difference between 22 and 23 places, so we shouldn`t take it into account.

Second, traditional system of cassification doesn`t give enough advantage to the winner (only 4 points), but winning of race is the main purpose of any athlete. So than higher place in race sportsmen take, than more advantage over next place in points he`ll get.

Third, points taken in usual races of World cup are equal to points taken at World championship, but the championship is the main event of season. Each sportsmen gets ready for it during all season and improves his

At last, World cup ranking show only current season situation, but this rating shows objective status of each sportsmen in world biathlon during all 52 weeks like well-known ATP rating in lawn tennis with only difference that previous year pionts don`t consumed at all, but taken into account on one fifth.

System of points for each place in WC and WCh. In brackets - previous year points:

WC: 1- 50(10), 2 - 40(8), 3 - 32(6), 4 - 25(5), 5 - 20(4), 6 - 15(3), 7 - 10(2), 8 - 5(1).

WCh: 1 - 100(20), 2 - 80(16), 3 - 60 (12), 4 - 50(10), 5 - 40(8), 6 - 32 (6), 7 - 25(5), 8 - 20 (4), 9 - 15(3), 10 - 10(2).
